Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence MSc, PGDip, PGCert
Our Department of Computer Science is committed to helping you develop the skills and attributes you need to progress successfully in your chosen career. We have a range of subject-specific awards and scholarships for academic, sporting and musical achievement. Most stage two modules are assessed by coursework and end-of-year examination. • Examples of computational creativity software e.g. musical systems, artistic systems, linguistic systems, proof generator systems, systems for 2D and 3D design.
It teaches students how to reverse-engineer and appraise complex, unwieldy systems by implementing source code and execution analysis techniques. It also presents a range of strategies that can be used to adapt and reengineer such systems to improve their quality and viability. The Faculty-wide Engineering – You’re Hired ai engineer degree Week is a compulsory part of the second year programme, and the week has been designed to develop student academic, transferable and employability skills. Working in multi-disciplinary groups of about six, students will work in interdisciplinary teams on a real world problem over an intensive week-long project.
Philosophy of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence
You will prepare an 7,000-14,000 word dissertation, which includes the material from the interim report, but also contains a complete design, implementation and evaluation of the results of your project. The Web and the Internet are now pervasive in modern life, providing an information resource, and promoting novel, interactive solutions to computing-related activities. The main focus of the module is on practical use of HTML, CSS and JavaScript in front-end development of interactive websites. As part of this, the module covers responsive web design, accessibility and legal issues when creating websites and an introduction to information security.
His current research interests include object recognition, object tracking, object segmentation, and face detection. This course will prepare you for the world of work as you will have developed an all-round knowledge in the field and understand the opportunities for using AI in a business setting. We use UCAS points in our offer-making and welcome a wide range of qualifications.
Postgraduate Research
Lectures were always interesting, technically demanding and most importantly, related to industry. Dependent on a student’s choice of final year project, some additional costs may be incurred for materials to support the development and delivery of the project. Travel, and accommodation costs incurred by compulsory trips and visits away from the University that are directly linked to the learning requirements of a specific module. You’ll have access to development environments for desktop, mobile and enterprise applications. Plus access to our mobile/smart devices development lab, with a variety of mobile devices for testing. International and mature students with different qualifications and experience are also encouraged to apply.
The University is committed to helping students develop and enhance employability and this is an integral part of many programmes. Specialist support is available throughout the course from Career and Employability Services including help to find part-time work while studying, placements, vacation work and graduate vacancies. Students are encouraged to access this support at an early stage and to use the extensive resources on the Careers website.
We will consider students who have taken GCE A Level examinations or the International Baccalaureate (IB) for entry onto our undergraduate programmes. Holders of the Tawjihiyya are not usually eligible for direct entry onto our undergraduate courses without completion of a suitable foundation programme, such as one of our foundation pathways. We will consider students who have taken GCE A Level examinations or the International Baccalaureate (IB) for entrance to onto our undergraduate programmes.
Demonstrate project management and time management skills including working to deadlines and planning your work beyond the next deadline. This module presents a broad overview of microsensor technologies, including the basic principles of measurement systems and the scaling effects arising from system miniaturisation. This module gives a broad introduction to application-specific processor system design and illustrates the use of such processors in the broader context of complex digital systems. The module provides an introduction to the theory and practice of optimization techniques. This module is suitable to those who want to apply computational optimization methods to their proble…
Electronic Engineering with Mobile and Secure Systems
You will learn systems thinking methodologies to model systems supported by digital technologies, enabling you to understand different aspects of technology, and to design your own solutions. Moreover, this module will help you to develop essential academic and personal study skills necessary for success in higher education. It will provide you with basic research, academic writing, and reflection skills. These skills are vital for your transition to higher education and will enhance your learning and academic growth.
Finding ways that enable machines to extract this knowledge and insight without need for human intervention opens up whole new avenues of data exploration. Data Analytics MSc students Stephanie Healy Fabrega and Indrajitrakuraj Ravi have been employed on a research project. Professor Vassil Vassilev and Dr Viktor Sowinski-Mydlarz were invited to learn and share at a major industry https://www.metadialog.com/ summer school earlier this July. You are advised to apply as early as possible as applications will only be considered if there are places available on the course. If you need (or wish) to improve your English before starting your degree, the University offers a Pre-sessional Academic English course to help you build your confidence and reach the level of English you require.
Become a cyber crime fighter as you develop a specialist skillset with our cyber security… The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or ai engineer degree to give you exemptions from parts of your course. Many of our academics and technicians who support your course also lead collaborative, interdisciplinary, high-impact work in a range of local and global computing and informatics issues and challenges.
Topics covered in the module include both top-view as well as bottom-view approaches to understanding digital computers. They range from the more theoretical (e.g., state machines, logic circuits, and von Neumann’s architecture) to the more practical (e.g., how transistors produce binary signals, operating system functions, memory management, and common hardware devices). The module also includes problem solving classes in which a guided discussion of weekly exercises is aimed at giving the student an opportunity to consolidate his/her understanding of the topics involved. Upon completion of this module, students should have a good conceptual and practical understanding of the nature and architecture of digital computer systems and their components.
The Oxford Artificial Intelligence Summit: Towards AGI
For admission onto an Undergraduate degree programme, the University of Birmingham requires all applicants to have studied for 13 years, and therefore you may need to take a foundation year before commencing your undergraduate programme. Students who hold a Higher National Diploma with a good profile of grades (distinctions and credits, or grades 1-3) will be considered for entrance to undergraduate programmes (first year entry). Students who have completed one or two years of a Bachelors degree from an Ethiopian university with excellent grades (A or 4 points) can be considered for entrance to undergraduate programmes. The University will consider students who have achieved good grades in their High School Graduation Diploma with at least 5 university-preparatory level (Grade 12) courses. For many of our programmes of study, students will need at least a B average, and possibly higher.
Eligible self-funded international Masters students will receive the Aberdeen Global Scholarship. Visit our Funding Database to find out more and see our full range of scholarships. If you are offered a place at Staffordshire University, your offer will be subject to our rules, regulations and enrolment conditions, which may vary from time to time.
